Dejan Lovren leaves Liverpool for Zenit Saint Petersburg

Dejan Lovren has completed his move from Liverpool to Zenit Saint Petersburg for a fee of around £11m.

Liverpool revealed the news on Twitter

We can confirm @Dejan06Lovren has joined @fczenit_en on a permanent transfer.

Everyone at the Reds would like to thank Dejan for his brilliant contribution over the years and wish him all the very best in his new challenge ❤️

Liverpool signed Lovren from Southampton for £20m in July 2014 and he has since helped the club win both the Champions League and Premier League under Jurgen Klopp.

Lovren made 185 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals.

The most famous of those was arguably the historic stoppage-time header against Borussia Dortmund in April 2016, which sent Liverpool into the Europa League semi-finals at the expense of Jürgen Klopp’s former team.
